Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender oil is one of the most popular doTERRA essential oils because of its light, powdery aroma, and its myriad of uses for everyday life.  Taken from the highly aromatic lavender flower, lavender oil has been used for centuries for its distinct aroma and powerful benefits.  Whether you need to soothe the occasional skin irritation, ease feelings of tension, or promote restful sleep, lavender oil has many practical uses. *

As a naturally soothing and calming essential oil, you will find that lavender is a helpful oil to keep on hand. Want to learn how to use lavender oil? Operation Underground Railroad

I don’t usually share a lot about causes that I’m passionate about, but I feel like this is something that I can’t not talk about.

Are you familiar with Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R.?) Do yourself a favor and check them out because they are doing good in the world. I didn’t know much about Human Trafficking, but it exists and O.U.R. is making changes! They are rescuing people and putting others behind bars. I used to think it only happened in other countries, surely not in the USA! Well, I was wrong.  There are people out there that need your help and support. Maybe you just need to be aware.

From their website comes this statement: “Since being founded in December 2013 we’ve gathered the world’s experts in extraction operations and in anti-child trafficking efforts to bring an end to child slavery. O.U.R.’s Underground Jump Team consists of former CIA, Navy SEALs, and Special Ops operatives that lead coordinated identification and extraction efforts. These operations are always in conjunction with law enforcement throughout the world. Once victims are rescued, a comprehensive process involving justice for the perpetrators and recovery and rehabilitation for the survivors begins. It is time for private citizens and organizations to rise up and help. It is our duty as a free and blessed people.”

Melaleuca, also known as Tea Tree oil, is one of my favorite doTERRA essential oils because it is versatile and has a range of applications. One of the things I love most about Melaleuca is its benefits for the skin and hair. Sometimes I put a drop or two of Melaleuca into my moisturizer, or even directly on my face after washing to reap the benefits of this purifying, toning essential oil. I also like to place a few drops of Melaleuca in my shampoo, or give myself a scalp massage with Melaleuca and Coconut Oil.

Melaleuca also promotes a healthy immune function and helps to protect us against environmental and seasonal threats. When I feel I need extra support, I make a capsule with a couple of drops each of Melaleuca, Oregano (or Thyme), OnGuard and Lemon. Works like a charm!

Essential oil science

We are so lucky to have Dr. Hill as one of our executives! Essential oils became much less confusing and more useable as soon as I learned more about their chemistry. I really enjoyed reading this article because, in my own experience, I knew the essential oils were working for me, but I wasn’t sure why or how. I am the sort of person that needs to know the ‘why’. Learning more about the chemistry can seem daunting which is why I love how Dr. Hill breaks it down for us. He gives an easy to understand explanation of the science behind how and why these drops can do so much for our wellness. What other resources have you found that help you understand the ‘why’ behind your favorite oils?
